I me dentro me

A storyboard and two final illustrations created for the 2026 Livio Sossi Illustration Contest, held as part of Lucca Comics & Games 2026.Based on the given story, 'Io me dentro me', I explored a more metaphorical and evocative approach to storytelling, moving away from a literal interpretation. The compositions combine collage-like elements to create deliberately unreal environments, where characters, objects, and fragments of scenery blur the boundaries between inner and outer worlds. One of the two final illustrations was selected for the upcoming official exhibition of the contest, presented during Lucca Comics & Games 2026.

Happy birthday

Personal picture book project inspired by the beloved Italian children’s song 'I Due Liocorni'.Rather than illustrating the song’s original narrative literally, this project deliberately reinterprets its characters and imagery to create a new visual story: a playful birthday party filled with unexpected encounters and joyful moments.
The project explores the development of an illustrated picture book, from the initial storyboard and visual concept to the final illustrations. Through character design, composition, and color, I transformed the familiar world of the song into an imaginative narrative.

Il cielo, che spettacolo!

A brand-new storyboard for 'Il cielo, che spettacolo!', an adaptation of Aurélia Coulaty’s picture book 'Dans le ciel'.For this reinterpretation, I developed a new visual narrative through a sequence of illustrated photographs, imagined as images captured by an unseen photographer. Each photograph offers a different glimpse of the sky, guiding the reader through a visual journey that gradually unfolds from one image to the next.
The photographic perspective becomes an integral part of the storytelling: the reader follows the photographer’s gaze, discovering the sky as an ever-changing landscape. The result is a narrative that sits between illustration and photography, using the language of the photograph to create a sense of observation and discovery.
